When is access to a bonded warehouse necessary?
Our bonded warehouse solution is for companies importing goods from countries outside the European Union. It is used to store goods which enter the customs area but which will not stay here, or goods for which the import has not yet been finalised.
This may cover components from the US for which the end client is not yet known, or goods from Asia, held centrally in Luxembourg, but which may be sold outside the European Union.
Why should you use a bonded warehouse?
Goods held in our bonded warehouse are free of customs duty, import VAT and other taxes for the full storage period. Duty and taxes are only applied once the end client for the goods is confirmed.
However, it is possible to handle or process the goods to ensure their safekeeping, to repackage them, and to prepare orders.

You can store goods in a bonded warehouse for an unlimited period. However, companies must request authorisation before they can use this system. Our teams can help you obtain this authorisation. When the goods are ready to leave the warehouse, we carry out all of the customs formalities required, depending on their destination.
